At this point, if you have any outbuildings, we will check the time to ensure that we can complete an inventory of your garage and/or shed. Once the interior inventory has been completed, we will photograph the exterior of your home. We do require you to be present during the documentation of jewelry and any other small, high-priced items you may want us to document. You can help provide the item values as we go or we can sit down following the inventory. You may be involved as much or as little as you like, although, we do encourage client participation to ensure maximum accuracy. We begin the recording process by going room to room, photographing and recording the details of your belongings (serial numbers, descriptions, etc…). Once you have verified the accuracy of our reports we finalize your inventory and provide you with the following in our comprehensive package: We offer two key reports: Home Inventory by Location & Home Inventory by Category so that you can easily view your property details. Following the completion of a home inventory we prepare a comprehensive reporting package which includes detailed reports including pictures. We respect that each person has a varying comfort level thus we put our clients at ease prior to beginning their inventory. At this time we listen to any concerns or issues they may have in any of their rooms or with any of their items. Before we start any inventory, we take a tour of the home with our client. We understand this concern and are sensitive to our client’s wishes. It may be housekeeping, carpet cleaning, repairs, and painting or delivery personnel. As with our standard home inventory, we deliver to you a complete Inventory Report with all the information we've compiled, stored safely in the cloud along with your video and photographs.Privacy and confidentiality are a concern anytime someone enters your home. We then arrange an interview with you and anyone else living in the home during which we gather as many details as possible about additional belongings that were lost or destroyed. We start with the same process we use with a normal home inventory, including videoing, photographing and documenting your belongings. We can be at your side to help get this arduous task accomplished faster and more thoroughly. In the midst of the turmoil ensuing from such a disaster, your insurance adjuster will ask for a detailed list of what has been lost. This is also sometimes known as a Disaster Response Inventory. Here in Southern California we contend with earthquakes, fires, mudslides and flash floods. Now you'll be completely covered and have an accurate record for planning purposes. You'll probably find the actual value of what you own exceeds your insurance policy and some of your more valuable items may need extra insurance. If your inventory is for insurance purposes, we recommend discussing the report with your insurance broker. These will be included in the Inventory Report. Our Home Inventory Managers also can scan important documents including receipts, warranties, deeds, insurance policies and more. Scan Receipts and Other Important Property Documents The photos and report remain safely and securely online for easy access in the event your report is misplaced or destroyed. We also provide you with detailed instructions on how to maintain and use your online record. Within a week, we deliver a link to your complete electronic Inventory Report with all the information we've compiled, including video and photographs. ![]() We also collect model numbers, serial numbers and other vital details and record them as well. We record your information using secure online software, setting up an account and password solely for you so that you have complete access to your home inventory at any time. Our Home Inventory Managers will chronicle your items room by room, paying extra attention to valuables that might require extra insurance (also known as a "scheduled endorsement"). We then photograph your home and belongings as well as more valuable items from different angles.
